ASB Reports 2021-2022.Allison Camara
Spirit Commissioner 2 September 2021 Position Assessment: During my time as a spirit commissioner I have done spirit counts as well as handing out candy for Club Rush week with the help of other spirit commissioners. We will do this same thing throughout the year on all Spirit days. Spirit Commissioners also have been selling old Pride Tribe inventory along with the help of Mrs. Pendelton at Club Rush and Pow Wow. Standing Committee: So far throughout the year I have taken part in handing out candy to the student body for dress up days affiliated with special weeks. I also hand out candy on Fridays for students wearing red and white. I am also a part of the Pride Tribe spirit and as of right now I am selling old inventory. Special Committee: Unfortunately this year I have not had the opportunity to take part in a special committee. However, I did get the chance to help publicize Club Rush events and the back to school dance throughout social media. Mentorship Evaluation: So far I feel that the Mentorship program has helped me in so many ways while being new to the Leadership family. While I already knew my partner Kylee Brown, this has allowed me to understand how she works throughout this class. She has helped me with various things throughout the beginning of the year such as helping me navigate throughout my website. I see how much effort she puts into her position and now understand what it takes to be in this program. Concerns: One concern I have for the upcoming events are covid getting in the way. Of course covid can always be an issue as it has been for the last year or two, but with things finally opening back up I hope that it can be less of a problem this upcoming year. One positive comment: One thing that I have found positive about this program so far is the people I am working with. Not only does the whole leadership crew feel like a family, I have become extremely close with the other spirit commissioners I work with. We have learned how everyone communicates and now understand everyone's needs to succeed in their role. I feel that in such a short amount of time we have become so close to one another. One change: I think that one change I would like to see is having more of the student body participate in school wide events. As a spirit commissioner I think it is part of my job to promote school spirit, and include everyone. My Impact: I think that my biggest impact so far has been spreading school spirit. I have tried to include the entire student body and hope to keep that as one of my biggest priorities. I hope to continue to have an impact on the students and staff while promoting spirit. Spirit Commisioner 14 October 2021 Position Assessment: Over the past few months I have thoroughly enjoyed being a spirit commissioner along with the responsibilities it holds. I loved during Homecoming to see all the spirit as we handed out candy to those who dressed up. I think overall we as a group have done a pretty good job, but there can still be some adjustments to how we operate. Some things we are still in the process of doing is counting spirit during Friday’s and other spirit occasions. One other thing I enjoyed doing was making videos to Promote spirit during homecoming. I think this was a fun way to help the teachers and students get involved. Standing Committee: The standing committee I am a part of is the Spirit Crew 21-22. The people on this team who work with me are great. I think we all effectively communicate and listen to each other often. We obviously have our setbacks, but I also think that this has made us stronger as a team and how we work together. Special Committee: Two of the special committees I was in for Homecoming were, float decorating, Poster decorating, and window decorating. As these all ended up in a competition, it was a lot of fun putting out our best work. As we worked we had setbacks but these issues helped us to better understand one another and what everyone can bring to the table. In the end, Homecoming week was a success and everyone had a great time trying to compete with each other. Mentor evaluation: While already knowing my Mentor Kylee Brown, I feel that over the past few months we have been able to bond with each other like we never have before. I think that we all have our strengths and weaknesses, and with this program it helps seeing this with your Mentor. She has often helped me with things as needed and is always willing to help. Getting to see her work on a more professional basis, this helps me understand her work. Positive Comment: One positive comment I have is how well the spirit crew has gotten along since the beginning of the year. I think now we have gotten comfortable with each other, to where we can still state our opinions to each other while being respectful. We have gotten into rutions and are always checking up on each other. One change: One thing I would change is trying to keep the sophomore class more organized. I feel that sometimes we are all over the place and no one can give you a straight answer. I think aht our homecoming experience helped us see this, and I hope that we take this into consideration and learn from our mistakes as we move forward. My impact: I think my biggest impact lately was helping film videos for promotion of school spirit. These videos showed my love and dedication to the school and their spirit days. This was a great way to get teacher’s involved while still knowing what was going on. I think that we should continue doing these to bring more student involvement as they see us participating. Spirit Commissioner 9 December 2021 Position Assessment: During the months of November and December I have been working with other Spirit Commissioners to promote different spirit days, as well as Red and white on Fridays. We started off December with a warm and fuzzy week, and are handing out candy every day. We have also been working with Mrs. Pendleton to create a plan for future basketball games, as we have ideas for themes and decorations for rival games. We plan to decorate the gym for these events. Standing Committee: The standing committee I am a part of is the Spirit Crew 21-22. Overall, these past months have been going extremely well. We have worked out a very good plan overall to distribute candy and counts. We seem to all have a good System to send the counts in and have definitely improved our organization in the candy room. Special Committee: So far I have been in the set up and cleanup committee for Winter Formal. I helped set up the dance and I also found the tent for us to use during the event. I was there in the morning until late afternoon preparing for Formal. The next morning I was there with the sophomores again to clean up as I spent extra time cleaning the tennis courts so it was ready for the tent people to get the tent. One other special committee is the Decorations and themes of Basketball games. We have started the preparation of this, but will continue more into late December. Mentor evaluation: I think that my mentor and I should be spending a little more time together, but overall it has been pretty good. Kylee Brown always helps me when I need it with certain assignments that I am unsure how to do. When I am gone she always fills me in on what I missed when I ask. I always feel comfortable going to her when I am in need of help and don’t hesitate to ask for help either. Positive Comment: One positive comment I have for the spirit crew is that we are very comfortable with each other. If one of us needs help we always have someone there to assist us. When our original chosen classes were not working for one of us, we easily found a way to create a better plan. I think that we also have really been working on getting more organized and it has improved us as a group. One change: One thing I would change is getting communication throughout the sophomore class to be a priority. I think that it has improved but could also be better. I feel that events are often rushed with little planning, and not being able to get the end result everyone wanted because of it. I think that if things had just a little more planned and communicated throughout the whole sophomore class, things would be a lot less stressful for everyone. My impact: I think my biggest impact lately has been helping the sophomore class with Winter Formal. I think that I put a lot of effort into helping the event be the best it could be with the information we had. Overall, I believe that the event went very well and it got done just in time because of everyone's contributions to create a great night for the student body. I was grateful to be a part of this event to create a great time for many students. |

Spirit Commissioner
10 February 2022
Position Assessment:
During the months of January and February, myself along with the other Spirit commissioners have been planning and decorating themes for the Boys Basketball games at home. We have also continued to hand out candy for Winterfest, Fridays, (red and white), College days, and any other Spirit days we have had in these past two months. We have also collaborated with our Advisor Mrs. Pendleton as we hope to sell Pride Tribe gear during Pow Wow.
Standing Committee:
As I am a part of the Spirit crew for the 21-22 school year, we have continued to grow in all of our roles. spirit counts have gotten a lot more organized as we are used to doing them now. Promoting spirit has definitely gotten better in the past months with decorating the gym for games, and having themes. We have seen very good turnouts at the past games, and hope to continue doing said events.
Special Committees:
Some of the special committees I have been a part of during the past two months have been, pride tribe while decorating the gym, and decorating the shopping cart and window with the sophomores for Winterfest. I also signed up to help with almond blossom parking as part of community service.
Mentor Evaluation:
Kylee Brown is always there when I need her, but with things getting so busy I think it's hard for us to get to spend time together. However, when working with her or spending time together it is always positive and I always get the advice I need. If anything I just wish we both had more time that we could dedicate to helping one another.
Positive Comment:
One Positive comment I have is that the Basketball game themes and decorations were a really good decision for the Spirit Commissioners. The themes brought more students to dress up and support our boys basketball teams. This really encouraged our student body to be at home games and support our school.
One change:
One thing we could change is having better communication throughout, the four spirit commissioners, our advisor, and Admin. When we got to the end of the themes, we began to understand that Administrators were not notified of these plans. Within the next few months I hope to better the communication between everyone I am working with. I also think communication between the spirit commissioner could be improved as not everyone is in attendance at every event we have going on, such as meetings and decorating after school. Maybe just notifying the rest of our group when we won’t be there.
My Impact:
My impact on January and this far into february have definitely been promoting as much spirit as possible. Throughout Winterfest and all the other events we have had, we had a huge turn out in Spirit, even running out of candy. The basketball games, and many spirit days heavily contributed to my impact.
