Summer book review-
Joan Didion in the book, "The Year of Magical Thinking", explains her process of grief and how it can be a different and overwhelming experience for everyone. "The Year of magical thinking", is about Didion's on going tragedies that brought her a long period of grieving. Throughout the text we learn different ways she learns to cope with the depression all while being able to not completely forget her past life with her deceased husband. My favorite art of the novel is when she refers to her fireplace as he safe spot. This is where a lot of her memories come back to her, the good ones. To the author this one thing reminds her of the good times she had with her whole family before the tragedies. I recommend this book for anyone who wants to learn about other's experiences or if they are wanting to feel comforted by someone else's experience with grieving from the loss of a loved one.
