Spirit Commissioner

Position Assessment:
During the past few months I have been working hard in leading the other spirit commissioners as we are trying to figure out how to successfully and consistently complete Spirit counts with the challenges we are facing this year. One other huge project we are working on is creating new Spirit Designs both shirts and crewnecks for the student body. We have pre-sold at club rush and are getting ready to place the order through IZA design.
Standing Committee:
The standing committee I am a part of is the Spirit Crew 22-23. So far there have been many challenges trying to figure out spirit counts with the 22-23 schedule, but we are working on it. I think we have a good group this year, and we are all excited to bring school spirit to the campus as much as we can.
Special Committee:
So far I have been in the decoration and black light committee for the back to school rally. I helped get posters up for the rally so that no one could see the seniors as they ran in.
I also helped with setting up the back to school dance, with balloons, posters, and the black lights. I sold spirit shirts at club rush and I am excited to help out more as the school year continues.
Mentor evaluation:
Alizeh is a natural when it comes to learning new things, she easily adapted to the program and is never afraid to ask questions. I look forward to getting to know her a little better as the year goes on, so far we haven’t spent much time together, so I hope I can improve that on my part. I have full confidence that she is going to strive in this program throughout the year.
Positive Comment:
One positive comment I have for the Spirit crew is through the challenges we are having with our new schedule, we are finding ways to make it work. We may not have the most convenient schedule, but everyone is trying their hardest to make it the best it can be with what we have.
I Also think core camp has really strengthened our entire class as a whole, making us a lot closer. As far as the junior class I feel our communication is already making improvements from last year.
One change:
Overall, I think that the start of this year has been very successful. I don’t think I have something I would change yet, other than the schedule but that is out of our control. I know later on I will find things I want to change but as of right now I think things are running pretty smoothly.
My impact:
Starting off the year I think I have had a pretty big impact starting with the creation and pre-sales of spirit wear. Last year we had ideas of creating new shirts, but actually following through with it is completely different. I am proud that the spirit commissioners this year were able to make that happen. I also have been doing spirit counts a lot as we had a full week during club rush. I think this year is going to be great and I am excited to get started.

Position assessment:
Spirit has been staying very busy throughout homecoming with the new spirit designs coming in along with counting spirit everyday during homecoming week. We sold the new designs at the JV homecoming game with the help of some other individuals in the leadership class. We have been working on getting accurate counts to Brianna with all the craziness of Homecoming. One thing we did differently during homecoming was marking tallys on paper so we were sure of an accurate number which I think worked out well. We also have put in a new purchase order for candy so we can keep on top of getting more before we run out. We plan on selling our designs throughout the week, with the help of Morty and Pendleton.
Standing Committee:
The standing committee I am a part of is Spirit. So far we have accomplished a lot, especially since our last meeting. We have planned to continue to sell our new merchandise as much as possible to get rid of inventory and promote it to our student body. We also are coming up with ways to get the student body spirited even if it is just on a Friday.
Special Committee:
A special committee I have been a part of is the riser committee for coronation. This helped decorate and move the risers when it was time for the homecoming court to walk out during powder puff. I also was able to had the crown and sash to our Grand Marshal, Mrs. Ulrich to crown the Homecoming Queen. I also have been able to help wherever I am needed for the most part during this crazy time. I helped with the junior float and also helped build the lemonade stands.
Mentor Evaluation:
Alizeh has been so great at everything she has done so far. She always puts her best effort into everything and works so hard to make everything the way it needs to be. She is always on top of things and I know she will get anything done correctly when anyone asks. I can’t wait to see how she continues to grow throughout the year and the whole program.
Concerns:
Some concerns I have are with the class as a whole. It's not so much a concern but something I want to change. I feel like lately everyone has been really stressed and we haven’t been able to act as a family, we are constantly not agreeing with each other and can’t seem to get things done efficiently. I hope that in some way even if it is just some time to get back to where we were before, where we could count on everyone being brought back. I think it will be such that we are usually such a close class, we just all need to step back and take a minute to evaluate.
Positive Comment:
I think that this may have been one of the most successful homecoming weeks yet. There was so much spirit and participation it was great to look around campus and see everyone dressed up. I also think that throughout everything, the float, the dance, and the lemonade stands, you could see each class's hard work.
One change:
One thing the Spirit Crew needs to change for sure is the zone maps for counts. I am hoping that with things calming down after Homecoming we are able to find a time to sit down and do this.
My Impact:
I think that lately I have been making a great impact on Spirit and the student body as a whole. After coming back from a not so great year last year, I have been able to actually work hard and prove myself to everyone. Whether that is dressing up for spirit days, completing procedure forms that I have never done before, or getting cash box form in before it is needed, I feel like I finally have been able to show how hard I can work and that I am a reliable person. My goal this year, as a spirit commissioner, is to get the student body involved in dressing up and having fun!!

Position assessment-
Through the past few weeks, spirit has worked hard on spirit counts, inventory, and upcoming planning for basketball themes. Before Dude be Nice week started, we rezoned the campus map and it has worked to be much more efficient. We have talked to Mrs. Pendleton about how she wants to go about themes for basketball, and plan to have a meeting when we return from thanksgiving break. Spirit has also sent out a google form to the student body asking for new theme ideas for sports events. We hope that this not only includes the student body, but also gives us some new ideas to work with. We also plan to sell merchandise at these upcoming events. Personally, I have helped out with dude be nice, by writing Miss Van Vuren a card and also helping the Junior class clean up the student store the following day.
Standing Committee-
After talking to Devina we Spirit has spent a total of 1,113.83 on candy this year. As far as inventory we have done pretty well on selling the crewnecks, we are all out of mediums. However, we need to get more shirts out there as well. We need to discuss it with Pendleton but as of right now we are thinking of selling at the upcoming basketball games. Selling at football games did benefit us, just not as much as we were hoping. As far as winter sport event themes, we have decided to decorate and create themes for boys and girls basketball. We were thinking of not going all out on all of the games, but focus more on games that we know will be well attended such as Ripon Christian and Escalon. We sent out a google form to the student body for theme ideas, hoping we can find some new ones. After Thanksgiving break we hope to meet with Pendleton and finalize our ideas.
Special Committee-
I am excited to help out with the community service project this year put on by the Vps. I will be attending Ripona to help out Friday morning. I am also happy that my CASL group was ahead of the game, thanks to our leader Claire. She made the whole thing super easy to stay on top of. I was able to finish my portion of the project early giving her time to edit and review. I think my group overall worked super well together.
Positive Comment-
I think that overall that Dude Be Nice week ran fairly smoothly. The juniors did a great job of organizing the week. We had a lot of spirit on campus during the week, which is always great to see.
Change-
One change that I would like to see in the program is using time wisely. I feel frustrated sometimes when I am trying my best to get things done, and others are not. I make sure to always offer help to others when I have nothing else to do, and I think this is something that the whole class should do.
Concern-
One concern that I have is how much candy we are going through for spirit counts. It is great to see the Spirit around campus, but I feel like it is being used a lot faster than it was last year.
Impact-
My impact on the program is something I always want to make sure is felt by myself, and the people around me. After not being here last year as much as I would’ve liked, I feel like I have to prove to myself that I do belong in this program. This is why whenever I am given a task I always strive to complete it with my full effort. I want to make a difference around the campus, sometimes I feel that it is difficult within my job description to do that. Lately, I have tried to remind myself that I can help others out to complete this as well. I have been offering my help to others when I have completed all I have needed to get done and I feel this has helped me tremendously with remembering my impact.

Position assessment:
Spirit has not had too much to do from the last asb meeting, but we have done our best to stay busy. We completed spirit counts for Warm and fuzzy and helped Gabby D with the game themes for boys and girls basketball. We decided that we are going to decorate for the Escalon boys basketball game on January 11th with the theme blackout and also we are going to figure out a plan for senior night. We need to make a plan for how we are going to decorate and also talk to Mrs. Pendleton. We need to also talk about what games we are planning on selling merchandise at.
Standing Committee:
Spirit is the standing committee that I am a part of this year. We are in the process of ordering more candy for winterfest. Warm and fuzzy week wiped us out of all of our candy so we need more before we start handing it out again.
Special Committee:
A special committee I have been a part of is the door decorating committee for warm and fuzzy week. I was able to help out when decorating doors for the teachers and staff around campus. It always turns out so nice and they add just a little more spirit around campus especially during the stressful time around finals.
Mentor Evaluation:
Alizeh has been so great during this entire year. She always is working her hardest at everything she does. I truly look at her as an inspiration and don’t know how she does have the things she excels at. I hope we continue to grow closer throughout the year and hope that she knows she can come to me anytime she needs help with anything.
Concerns:
Some concerns I have are with the merchandise we have left over from sales. We are trying to figure out times that we can sell, but we need to sell a lot more to get rid of inventory.
Positive Comment:
I think that our class has been a lot more productive than we have shown to be in the past. Everyone I think used these work days in a way that was extremely helpful to them, I know I did. I think these days are very important, especially with finals being next week.
One change:
One thing I think we should change is the number of bodies we have helping with door decorating for warm and fuzzy. I think in the end they turn out so great, it just takes so much time. I think maybe if we incorporated Link Crew or another club, it would go a lot faster and each group wouldn’t have to decorate so many doors. This way we could focus more on the perfection of the door rather than the time.
My Impact:
I think that lately my impact hasn’t been as strong as it has been in the past. I was out sick for a while so it's difficult to make a huge impact from afar. Before I was sick, I think I was making an impact by always making sure the candy is stocked, we are planning basketball themes, and also making sure the rest of spirit stays on task.

Spirit has not had too much to do from the last asb meeting, but we have decorated for the Black out game against escalon and just recently did inventory, which we have more merchandise than we wanted. However, we are planning to sell at 8th grade parent night and Pow Wow. We also need to take inventory for old merchandise and have that ready to sell too.
Standing Committee:
Spirit is the standing committee that I am a part of this year. We just submitted a new P.O for more candy, because winterfest wiped us completely out. We finished inventory on the old Spirit wear, now we just have to complete the old.
Special Committee:
A special committee I have been a part of is the hearts we are working on for valentines day. I feel that this brings so much joy and inspiration to our campus. It's the little things such as these hearts that can make people's day.
Mentor Evaluation:
When I first found out we were switching mentors, I was so upset because Alizeh was truly so amazing. However, having April is just as great. She is the kindest and most talented person I know. Going to lunch with her last week was so fun and we were able to get to know each other a little better. We talked about next year, and she made me feel much more comfortable with my decisions.
Concerns:
One concern I have is the old inventory we have to get rid of. The newer will be a lot easier to sell, especially with 8th grade parent night coming up, but I am not sure how easy the older merch wil sell.
Positive Comment:
I think that winterfest went pretty well for the juniors. We were ahead on a lot of things and had a lot better communication with each other. Jenna and Lucia made a huge impact on this and we wouldn’t have been able to do it without them.
One Change:
The change I want to make is more personal than having to do with the class, I want to be there more. The past few weeks I have been through non stop doctor appointments, which means I am missing more and more classes. I hope this month I am there a lot more, and so far it is looking better.
My Impact:
My impact is getting stronger, as I am slowly starting to be here more and help out whenever needed. I think that even though I missed a lot of winterfest, I was still able to make an impact behind the scenes. I helped a lot with the poster and other small things when the Junior class needed it.

Position Assessment:
In the past few months Spirit Commissioner's main focus has been spirit counts. We have put in more PO’s for candy that will last us for the rest of the school year. We have organized to have Nothing Bundt Cakes be our prize for the winning class for spirit this year. The Pride Tribe Spirit Award will be given out on May 10th, where we will personally deliver the needed amount to each advisory class.
Standing Committee:
The standing committee I am a part of is the Spirit Crew 22-23. We have continued to figure out spirit counts despite all of our challenges this year. I am excited for our last Spirit week at the end of the year being The Challenge Week.
Special Committee:
I have been a part of the Pride Tribe Award and College reveal night special committees this semester. We are still working on college reveal night, but the Pride Tribe Award night was very successful.
Mentor evaluation:
April is amazing, she is always there when I have a question or need help with something. It has been difficult to have lunch this past quarter, but the past lunches we have had have been so great. She always goes above and beyond to reach out to me and make sure that If I need anything I can go to her.
Positive Comment:
One positive comment I have is that I am excited for the Spirit award because it is something different. I know last year, we did donuts which were good, but nothing completely special. I hope that the winning class enjoys this too! I think that the spirit commissioners all collaborated well on this project.
One change:
I am not sure that I have a chance for this report, overall I have been extremely happy with how class has been going and there is no major change that I would like to see.
My impact:
My impact in the past two months has been majorly creating the Spirit Award for the end of the year and preparing for my new position as Senior Class Admin. With that being said, my major impact has been revolving around the student body and how they will end and start their year.
